Joseph: WORK@risk
June 15, 2008 - For Father's Day, we celebrate every father in attendance. Where would families be without the role of a Godly father in the home? It is not easy being a man today with all the pressures at work, the constant need for re-tooling and updating work skills and the gnawing question of true significance and meaning in the work itself. We could not ask for a better topic on Father's Day. Joseph had four jobs. The first three were horrific beyond measure, but those jobs were the means that God built character into Job's life. You might find yourself in a dead-end job. The boss may even be treating you like a common criminal. Do you find it hard to stay motivated at work? Listen as we look at the career life of Joseph. God used menial, seemingly insignificant jobs to prepare Joseph for a job that would save multitudes beyond measure of starvation. Pastor Stan Lubeck shares what it means to have a "vocation" rather than just an "occupation" in the workplace.
